DWN’s newest members: In Germany, USA and China!

Install two TC2s in Oregon, USA
by

With each passing month, we add new members to our DWN community. Some of them aspirants for the loom, some admirers of our technology, some simply curious of how it all comes along and yet others, are TC2 owners!

Installation in Germany…

The latest entrants into our tribe is the University of Osnabrück, Germany, where we recently installed a TC2. And helping us set it all up was Lucia Schwalenberg and her husband. Lucia, we can’t thank you enough for being such an incredible ambassador for us in Germany! 🙂 Here’s a glimpse of the setting up …

Installations in the US…

And then, we had Cathryn Amidei install two TC2s in Oregon, USA – one at the University of Oregon and the other at Joan Truckenbrod‘s studio. In the pictures below, you can see Sonja Dahl and Jovencio de la Paz. Jovencio is currently an Assistant Professor & Curricular Head of Fibers at the Univ. of Oregon. He is also a former student from SAIC.

Here you can see Joan Truckenbrod happily posing with her newly-installed TC2 loom. Joan is an artist and a former Professor at School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). She’s done amazing textile-related installations in the past, and it will be exciting to watch what may happen now!

Installation in China*…

(* coming pretty soon!)

In early August, three professors from the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, China, visited us at Digital Weaving Norway. The University is due to get a TC2 by the end of the year and they were here to participate in a training workshop with Vibeke Vestby.

Here are a few snaps from their visit, where you can see Huang Yan and Song Chunyang and Assadour Markarov (Originally from Bulgaria). Once the loom is at the University, Vestby and DWN’s good old friend Lia Cook will be teaching a training workshop there as well.
